PDF Editor — About This Tool
The PDF Editor tool lets you annotate and mark up PDF files directly in your browser — add text overlays, highlight sections, draw freehand, or insert comments. No file is uploaded to any server at any point. All editing is performed locally using browser-based PDF rendering. This is particularly useful for Kerala government employees who need to annotate draft Government Orders, mark up leave sanction forms, or add remarks to pension documents before forwarding them to the next authority.
When to Use
- ✦Adding text annotations or remarks to draft Government Orders (GOs) before routing them for approval
- ✦Marking up scanned pension application forms with corrections or additional information
- ✦Highlighting key clauses in KSR or service rules for reference during departmental training
- ✦Adding a digital signature placeholder or "Received" stamp text overlay to scanned documents
- ✦Annotating audit reports or inspection notes with department comments before submission
FAQ
Can I fill in PDF forms using this editor?+
Yes. If the PDF has interactive form fields (fillable forms), you can click on them and type your responses. For scanned PDFs without form fields, you can use the text overlay feature to place text anywhere on the page.
Will my edits be saved permanently in the PDF?+
When you download the edited PDF, all annotations and text overlays are embedded in the file and will be visible to anyone who opens it. The original file on your device is not modified — only the downloaded copy contains your edits.
Does this tool work for Malayalam text input?+
Text entry depends on your device keyboard and input method. If your device supports Malayalam keyboard input (via a Malayalam IME or virtual keyboard), you can type Malayalam text into text overlay fields. For scanned documents with Malayalam, the text is part of the image and cannot be edited directly.
Is there a page limit for editing?+
There is no hard page limit. However, very large PDFs (100+ pages or heavy scans) may take longer to load in the browser editor. For large documents, consider splitting the PDF first using the PDF Splitter tool, editing the relevant pages, then merging back.
🔒 100% Private — All file processing happens entirely in your browser. No files are ever uploaded to any server. Your documents never leave your device.
